Summer Schools

After a successful Summer School in 2025 (15th – 21st August), the dates for forthcoming Summer Schools are: 7th – 14th August 2026; 6th – 13th August 2027; 11th-18th August 2028.

2025 sees the 125th anniversary of Alan Bush, the founder of the Workers’Music Association, and in 2026 the WMA itself will be 90 years old. A series of concerts and lectures has been organised to celebrate these anniversaries. We would welcome your attendance at any or all of these events:

20th September 2025 10.00am – 4.00pm at the Marx Memorial Library, Clerkenwell Green, London EC1 : Alan Bush – an introduction to a radical composer

4th October 2025 7.00pm – 9.30pm at the Anthony Burgess Foundation, Manchester M1: Pianist Rolf Hind performs Alan Bush & works by other socially conscious composers.

29th November 2025 from 3.00pm at All Saints Church, Kings Heath, Birmingham B14: Birmingham Clarion Singers celebrate Alan Bush.
